I was honored to be tagged by What Happened To Hollywood? to participate in the 7 x 7 Link Awards. (Thank you very much!!) It’s a blog event where we can nominate one of our own posts that fit into each category and then pass the Award on to seven other bloggers for them to participate. It seems like a great way to not only promote your own work, but more importantly to help others promote their work also. Also a great way to get to know each other!! I have never been asked to take part in anything like this before but it sounds like fun!!
1. Tell everyone something that no one else knows about you.
I’m scared of heights but I love to fly. I dislike roller coasters but would love to skydive some day. Go figure, I can’t!! 🙂
2. Link to one of the posts that I think best fits the following categories:
A: Most beautiful piece: Billie Dove: The American Beauty. I’m not sure about most beautiful as I don’t write near as beautifully as many of my fellow bloggers. But I chose this one because Billie Dove has always been one of my favorites and I love the ‘Pictorial of Billie Dove Set To Music Video’ I included at the end of the blog.
B: Most helpful piece: Marilyn and Ella. This blog is a great story of how Marilyn Monroe helped advance Ella Fitzgerald’s career and their lifelong friendship. It is helpful in understanding the type of person Marilyn was and what a kind heart she had. At least I think she did!!
C: Most popular piece: Audrey and Ip. Just a little story about Audrey Hepburn and a young fawn named Pippin she kept for several months. Of course anything written about Audrey is sure to attract an audience but this one seems to be the most popular.
D: Most controversial piece: Katharine Hepburn: My Top Five. My top five Katharine Hepburn movies that I enjoyed the most. SO MANY to chose from, everyone’s list will be a little different!!
E: Surprisingly successful piece: Edward Everett Norton. Not many people other than classic movie buffs have any idea who Edward Everett Norton is, but this post drew as much traffic as any others that I did about much better known stars.
F: Most underrated piece: Ben Hur…..The Chariot Race: Charlton Heston. One of the most famous and thrilling scenes ever recorded in one of the greatest movies ever made. Not sure that underrated is the right term but it just didn’t draw a lot of attention.
G: Most pride-worthy piece: Hattie McDaniel: An Oscar Legend. Most pride worthy?? I don’t know, but this blog about Hattie is one of my favorites.
3. Pass this award on to seven other blogs/bloggers: There are so many great blogs out there that I like, (many of whom have already been nominated), but these are worthy…
If you’ve already recieved a 7 x 7 nomination, please feel free to pass it along to a deserving blogger of your choice or let me know and I’ll try to chose another.
