Maureen O’Hara, born August 17, 1920 in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish actresss and singer. Known for her red hair and Irish beauty, she starred with some of Hollywood’s most dashing leading men, including Tyrone Power, John Payne, Rex Harrison, James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Brian Keith, Sir Alec Guinness, and John Wayne. Maureen and John Wayne were great life long friends and she starred in five films with Wayne, the most beloved being The Quiet Man (1952). All told, Maureen O’Hara starred in over sixty films in her acting career.
Now officially retired, she has homes in Arizona and the Virgin Islands but lives mainly in Glengarriff, County Cork, Ireland.

    Maureen O’Hara was a great actress, and it is something how she commands the screen against someone as iconic as John Wayne in “The Quiet Man.” That movie would not be the same without her. Thanks for the posts. (And nice website — I gave it a Stumble).
